Elevations of a Queen Anne House

Below is the list of the styles we will be studying and drawing:
  • Classic 19th Century
  • Colonial
  • Queen Anne
  • Victorian

We will be taking vintage plans and examples dating from these early era's and drawing them complete to match modern codes and specifications. All the while, preserving the classic styles they were created in.

[Image] Designing a home that is truly classic in nature seems to be a lost art in most architectural circles. Middle to late 19th and early 20th century homes represented a true beauty that has been lost in a modern society, yet many prospective homeowners would love the idea of having such a classic styled home designed for them. It just seems that the drafting professionals who produce these types of home drawings are few and far between.

The answer is to train drafters and designers in this classic art so that designing these styles won't become a forgotten art in our synthetic world of plain and sterilized houses. The reason I built Vintage House Plans 101 is to preserve this skill for future generations.

To take this course, you will either need to have a working knowledge of architectural drafting or be required to take House Plan Drafting 101 which will be supplied to you as part of the curriculum at no extra charge.

These classic architectural courses are designed to be suitable educational content for, but not exclusive to; the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. A certificate of completion will be awarded once you have completed all of these courses.
